Vocabulary journals are one of the best and easiest resources for your students to help “build” their vocabulary. I used  these vocabulary journals last year and saw my student’s vocabulary increase significantly in their writing and speaking. I copy the cover onto colored copy paper and write the students name on the front and staple the pages together. I use this for Math and Ela. Each time we write a word we go over the previous words. It helps keep it fresh in their minds. My teaching cohart makes 2 journals- one for math and one for ela- both ways work great.

There are many different versions for different uses and grade levels- I love using the illustration pages for reading vocabulary words I do not put these in the journals- I use the alphabet pages- for our daily journals.
