We recently had our Family Reading night at our school. It was a huge success!! My daughter loves the Accelerated Reading program. She recently won the Best Overall in AR points at our school for 1st and 2nd grade. She beat out over 200 students.  If you would have told me that last year, I would have never believed you. Reading was not her thing last year in first grade. She only read when she had to and when I made her. We ended up with a C in Reading to end the year. I almost held her back just because of her reading. This year in second grade her teacher made reading fun and exciting for her and she really blossomed. You couldn’t keep a book out of her hand. I am so thankful that she had a teacher that showed her the love of reading and made it an enjoyable thing. Did that teacher change her life? You bet she did. And she changed mine too. I will forever be grateful to Ms. Misty, her second grade teacher for helping my daughter succeed.
